Reasons Why Daylight Savings Petition Should Be Approved

Some people refer to daylight saving time as daylight savings time or summer time. The practice of adjusting the clocks one hour forward during summer in order to have an extra hour in the evening and reduced hours in the morning is known as daylight saving time. The clocks are advanced one hour at the start of the spring and one hour backward in autumn. In spring, you will have a few hours of sleeping and during autumn, you will sleep for more hours. George Hudson invented the daylight saving mode in order to save energy use in 1895. We don’t need the daylight saving time in this era. The following are the major reasons why I support the end of the daylight saving time.

Many road accidents have resulted from daylight saving time. Daylight saving time deprives us one hour of sleep and this has led to more road accidents. Austin C did his own research and discovered that DST causes more road accidents. In spring, more people die because of road accidents. Definitely, we should end daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time can be blamed on the high number of heart attacks. After advancing the clocks by an hour, a lot of people have had heart attacks. Blockage of vessels that carry blood to the heart can be caused by DST. Research shows that the risk of having a heart attack after losing an hour of sleep is very high. DST should be abolished in order to reduce cases of heart attack.

Daylight saving time has been proved to increase the energy costs rather than reducing the costs. The reason why DST was proposed was to save on energy usage. Since we no longer have an energy crisis, DST should be abolished.

DST increases the power bills. The DST will cut down on the cost of lighting but increase the cost of air conditioning. More air conditioning energy is used during the extra hour we get in the evening hence I fully support the abolishing of the daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time disrupts traveling, record keeping, billing, and jobs. Daylight saving time reduces the number of working for employees who are in night shift.

Finally, the daylight saving time has the same effect just like the jetlag. Once the clocks are forwarded by an hour, your body clock will not be synchronous with the clocks and this results to fatigue, insomnia, and headache.

Finally, these reasons are enough to abolish daylight saving time.
